JO 2024: The Revival of the Pleyel Neighborhood in Saint-Denis

The Pleyel district in Saint-Denis has transformed in a big way, all getting ready for the Paris Olympics this summer. With lots of people coming to visit, the whole area looks different thanks to a really big construction project. We've got a huge walking path just for pedestrians now, a fancy 4-star hotel with 700 rooms, and a new station for the Grand Paris Express! And guess what? There's a cool new footbridge too, unveiled on May 16th. It's called the "Pleyel urban crossing pedestrian footbridge (FUP)" and it was designed by the amazing architect Marc Mimram. This fancy steel bridge goes over the train tracks, connecting the new Grand Paris express station with the Stade-de-France - Saint-Denis station on the RER D line. Right now, it's just for folks walking, but they're planning to make it a bridge for cars and bikes by 2026. How cool is that? So many exciting things happening in the Pleyel district!Exciting news! Have you heard about the latest changes in town? The iconic Pleyel tower has been completely revamped into a fabulous 4-star hotel. H-Hotels from Germany has taken charge and rebranded it as H4 Hôtel Wyndham. What's in store? Well, there are around 700 rooms and a rooftop bar with stunning panoramic views of the city on the 40th floor, soaring up to 130 meters. The grand opening is set for June 10th, so mark your calendars! Get ready for the grand debut of the northern Paris Châtelet! Everyone has been waiting eagerly for the extension of line 14 to finally arrive. This new line will link southward to Orly airport and northward, providing easy access to the Stade de France with the addition of a new section between Mairie de Saint-Ouen and Saint-Denis Pleyel station. The grand unveiling is just around the corner on June 24th. Traffic is expected to be bustling, so plan accordingly. The Saint-Denis - Pleyel train station is ready to welcome passengers in the coming weeks for the @GdParisExpress and extension of #Ligne14. Stay tuned to see the marvelous station designed by the renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. It's worth the wait!
