If you want to keep enjoying the amazing flavors of Singapore, you absolutely need to try Peranakan cuisine. Believe me, once you taste Singaporean curry, braised tofu, simmered vegetables, soups, and chestnut rice, you'll be hooked. The flavors are so rich and complex, the textures varied, and the spices give an extra kick. The fusion of Malay and Chinese influences is simply mind-blowing and always on point. Two must-visit spots are Whole Earth and Old Bibik, located in the Tanjong Pagar and Joo Chiat neighborhoods, offering menus that will satisfy and prices that won't break the bank. The food journey is truly delightful. And don't forget to visit Haig Road Putu Piring where you can indulge in the pure joy of biting into this traditional dessert. It's all about the putu piring. If you enjoy sound, water, and light performances, be sure to reserve some evenings to experience Spectra at Marina Bay, and Garden Rhapsody among the iconic illuminated supertrees of Gardens by the Bay - both of which are free to attend. Also, don't forget to visit the two famous domes that are a must-see for all tourists in Singapore, featuring stunning waterfalls, exotic plants, and more.
And lastly, I can't believe I almost forgot to mention this hidden gem earlier - there's a small island to the northeast of Singapore called Pul.au Ubin and it is a true hidden gem. You can reach it by a small boat.Maximum ten people, a few minutes of sailing, and there it is, the small wild and charming island where life is sweet, the inhabitants number 40 and the animals are the true rulers of the island. Grab a bike and go on an adventure, take the small paths, walk in the butterfly trail and have fun trying to recognize them all, observe the local wildlife with binoculars, drink fresh coconut water and eat its flesh with a spoon, in short, forget about time and take it, this time, like those who live here. With a bit of luck, you might cross paths with Kopi O, the small black and brown dog who reigns over Pulau Ubin, who loves to run alongside bikes and who personally takes care of going to fetch the tourists who get lost in the forest. That's also Singapore: kindness and a life that can be simple.
