We all know that May is definitely one of the best months of the year, as it gives us the super exciting chance to enjoy long weekends galore. However, some people might not have the means or opportunity to travel far away and find themselves stuck in the streets of Paris, crossing their fingers that the weather will at least let them make the most of the day. So, what about this week from May 11 to 17, 2026?

A Gloomy Start to the Week

Before diving into the heart of the matter, let's take a moment to talk about the first days of this week, which are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. And here’s the good news: given the end of the weekend we just had, it's not that bad! While Monday morning may be marked by some persistent showers, things aren’t too gloomy!Aunties, the latter should make way for some rays of sunshine in the afternoon. Bright spells will mostly stick around on Tuesday, aka the most beautiful day of the week, by far. But wait, don’t get too excited just yet, because Wednesday will remain acceptable, though we can expect some bad weather throughout the day, along with a greyer and windier atmosphere. And at the same time, it’s not that big of a surprise, since this start of the week falls during the frost saints period, a term that refers to the 11th, 12th, and 13th of May (that's Saint Mamert, Saint Pancrace, and Saint Servais), a series of days when temperature drops and night frosts after spring-like weeks are quite common.

A Not-So-Fun Weekend

And unfortunately for everyone who thought they could enjoy Ascension Day wandering through the streets of the capital, you’ll need to revise your plans; this time, it will be all about, as you might have guessed, the rain. Not only will it be cold (with temperatures currently between 5 and 14°C), but showers are expected throughout the day, and it’ll be the same story on Friday. A tip: if you want to do something, look to the movies or museums. Luckily, there’s a (very) slight improvement expected at the end of the week, on Saturday and Sunday. While the sky will remain mostly gray and sunless, the rain should become less frequent, and the temperatures will rise drastically to almost 20°C. Hooray for May!
