The autumn air that's been blowing through the capital for a little while now is going to stick around for Parisians until the beginning of August, at least. The scorching temperatures that hit the city at the start of July are now just a distant memory, while the grey skies are gradually taking over. Although there are still some sunny spells breaking through the clouds, especially at the beginning of the week, the thermometer remains modest, swinging between 15 and 26 °C. It looks like a cooler and more unstable weather pattern is settling in for the coming days. Here are the forecasts for the week from Monday, July 28 to Friday, August 1.

A midweek mix of rain and sunshine

If the clear sky on Monday night gives hope for a bright week, the following days won’t be exactly sunny for Parisians. Tuesday is looking mild and bright: the sun will shine in the morning, before giving way to some cloudy spells in the afternoon. The temperature will reach a lovely 25°C at the warmest point of the day, with a gentle breeze coming from the west. Starting from Wednesday, however, things will take a turn. While temperatures will rise slightly to around 26°C, rain will make its appearance, making the weather much less pleasant. Thursday will bring a slight improvement, with a clearer sky and temperatures ranging between 18°C in the morning and 26°C in the afternoon.

An equally unstable weekend

Friday won’t bring any real calm. After a slight improvement on Thursday, a new deterioration is expected to close the week. The sky should cloud over again, and some showers might disrupt the day. Temperatures will remain cool for the season, with a high of 24°C during the day. The northwesterly wind, which will be quite strong, will enhance this feeling of autumn chill. So, an unstable weather pattern that is likely to stick around until the weekend.
