Weather in Paris: why should we expect the worst this week?

For the past few days, there's no doubt about it, we are now closer to winter than to autumn. This feeling has been drastically heightened since the time change this weekend, which has significantly reduced the light in the evening. And considering what’s in store for us this week, unfortunately, dear Parisian readers feeling the effects of seasonal depression, your spirits might not improve anytime soon.

Benjamin leaves its mark

At the end of last week, the capital, like much of the country, was hit by a fury of the elements, as Storm Benjamin brought along strong gusts of wind and a drastic drop in temperatures. A few days later, unfortunately, there's been no significant rise in the thermostat, but rather a consistency in the mercury, which is below the m.usual average for the season.

Indeed, throughout the week, you can expect temperatures between 9 and 15°, with a slight improvement just before the weekend, as the forecast predicts a lovely 17 this Friday, October 31. Not quite a reason to jump for joy, but considering what's ahead, we believe every little victory counts. The only good news is that the wind, which has been with us for several days, is expected to calm down significantly.

A gray and overcast sky

These uncomfortable temperatures will also come with a fair amount of gray clouds and almost daily showers. The only light — quite literally — in this tunnel of bad weather: some clearings are expected to appear on Friday afternoon. However, we advise you not to get too caught up…cute; enjoy too quickly and tone down your excitement, we’re only at the start of the week, and forecasts can change 4 times by then. But still, it’s a prospect that warms our hearts. The moral of the story this week is to treat ourselves to cozying up under a blanket without feeling guilty, we eat soup, and we’re planning our next sunny vacation to stay cheerful.
