Weather in Paris: a disastrous week ahead for the return to school

Here we are, September 1st has arrived, bringing with it a wave of disappointments. Goodbye beach and ice creams, hello subway and arguments at the office. And to top it all off, the sun will be missing in action, ensuring we stay nice and gloomy right to the end.

All good things must come to an end, and to really mark the end of the summer season, the weather has decided to shift from a scorching heatwave to much cooler temperatures for the season. The cherry on top? The return of the rain as a bonus. In short, you’ve got it, this week is looking gloomy and promises to force us back to reality — with a bang.


Weather as depressing as a Monday morning commute in the metro

Since the middle of last week, we’ve said goodbye to the sun and the expected summer minimum temperatures. Bad news, it’s not expected to improve in the coming days. Indeed, for now, the thermostat is set to hover between 13° and 22° until next Friday. Add to that a completely gray sky, not a single ray of light.

and especially some regular episodes of rain for 4 days, and there you are, ready for a delightful week back to school filled with joy and good vibes. The precipitation should mainly occur in the afternoon and at the end of the day, putting a damper on any plans to lift your spirits by enjoying a drink on a terrace.


A Delightfully Cheerful Weekend

Luckily, this little slump shouldn’t last long, as starting Friday, the sun will make a shy comeback and by the next day, the temperature will rise above 24°. Sunday, September 7, promises us a beautiful summer day, with a cloudless sky and a thermometer that should show over 28°. And if you want our advice, we suggest you make the most of it, because next week, it’s back to square one, with cold, gloom, and rain, and even thunderstorms expected on Monday. No doubt, it’s the back-to-school season, and to be honest, it’s a bit depressing for us.
