After the intense cold, it’s time for a warm-up in the City of Light. After a week spent below freezing, having to navigate through snow and ice, the weather is finally returning to normal for the start of the year, with temperatures between 4°C and 12°C. The coming days will also see a significant return of rain, so bring out those raincoats!
Much milder temperatures
Starting this Monday, January 12, say goodbye to polar temperatures, puffy jackets, and moon boots, as the thermostat is expected to rise above 0°C, and even exceed 10°C early in the week, much to our delight. And this warm-up should stick around with us for a while!
This weekend brings a little warmth, allowing the less chilly among us to bring out the jackets. The morning frosts should also fade away, a sign of the rise in temperatures, ranging 2 to 4°C above the seasonal norms. And even though there’s a slight drop this weekend — between 4°C and 8°C on Saturday and Sunday — we won't be feeling those -6°C that felt like -10°C that left us frozen last week.Le plus de la météo ce jour…

It's the Frog Party!
On the bright side, though, the temperature rise will never mean a return of the sun; quite the opposite! Throughout the week, the skies will be gray, cloudy, and dull, complete with a good splash of rain, which will show up at least once every two days this week (if not more). According to the early forecasts, you might be able to go without an umbrella this Tuesday, January 13, possibly on Thursday the 15th and maybe even on Sunday the 18th, but that's pretty much it. And so far, it looks like this Saturday the 17th will be the worst of the week. So make sure to pull out your boots and your best raincoat to face these somewhat uncomfortable conditions!
