We hope you’re ready because it’s going to get hot! This weekend, France, especially Paris, is set to experience a new heatwave, the fiftieth since 1947 according to Météo France. On one hand, this sounds exciting because it marks the arrival of summer, but on the other hand, this heatwave “will be early with remarkable heat levels for June, while still being not unprecedented,” says Matthieu Sorel, climatologist, in Le Monde.

A scorching weekend ahead
If we have one recommendation for you, it's to slather on lots (lots) of sunscreen and definitely not to forget your sunglasses at home. Why? Because starting this Thursday, June 19, the temperatures will only keep rising, kicking off with 31 degrees in the afternoon. Then on Friday, June 20, things are really going to heat up with a morning at 27 degrees, an afternoon hitting 33 degrees, and unfortunately, a warm night at 25 degrees.

It’s hard to cool off, but don’t worry, we’ve picked out the best cool spots in the capital for you! On Saturday, June 21, we’ll really feel a heat wave for the Music Festival. What does that mean? 35 degrees expected in the afternoon, 32 degrees in the evening, and 27 degrees overnight. Let’s just say the celebrations are going to be in full swing! On Sunday, June 22, it’s more of the same, with 33 degrees on the way. However, we can expect a little drop in temperatures overnight, with 21 degrees coming our way, which we’ll welcome with open arms!
Sunny weather with a slight chance of rain on Sunday
As you can imagine, the weather is going to be particularly nice. Sunshine, sunshine, and more sunshine… That’s the plan for this weekend! On Sunday evening, the rain is expected to return for a few hours, just to refresh us a bit and help us start next week a little more gently with daytime temperatures around 25 degrees. The good news is that summer seems to be here for good, promising us lovely weather until at least the beginning of July!
