In recent weeks, the increasingly high temperatures have led to pollution spikes in the capital. A situation often worsened by heavy car usage, which pushes the RATP to set up clever systems to encourage people to take public transport. For example, there's this special fare at a more than advantageous price…

Over 50% discount

We prefer to let you know right away, if you have an annual or monthly Navigo pass, this news will probably not make any difference to you. But if you’re the type who likes to combine a bike and a Liberté+, or if you’re just passing through the capital for a few summer days, stay tuned, we have a great piece of news for you.

Indeed, when a pollution peak is announced in Paris, the RATP goes to battle for the planet and offers its users the chance to benefit from a special pass at a flat rate of €4. And let me tell you, the math is easy: since the introduction of the single ticket at €2.50, just two rides and it's already worth it. Plus, you can travel unlimited across the entire Île-de-France network for a full day (and even until the early morning with the Noctilien).

Measures that are multiplying

However, be careful, this special pass is not automatically available for sale, and the decision is made by ...o-reservee-touristes/">Île-de-France Mobilités day by day. Don’t rush to the counter of the nearest station at the slightest heat, and instead wait for confirmation, for example on social media. The police prefecture can also decide to implement the pass.

Similarly, they can choose to implement limited or alternate traffic to reduce car usage and, therefore, curb the increase in pollution levels. However, we hope that, during these days, they are successfully implementing the discount fare, with the primary goal being, of course, to encourage people to use public transport instead of driving their cars.
