Unfortunately, the beloved annual tradition in the capital, the Techno Parade, will not be happening in 2024. Once again, the reason for this change is because of the Olympics. But don't worry, the music will still be playing in our hearts!

Oh no! Bad news for all the party animals out there. The Technopol association, the ones behind the awesome Techno Parade in Paris, have decided to unfortunately cancel the 2024 edition of this super fun and free event. It's been happening every September since way back in 1998. The reason for the cancellation? The Olympic and Paralympic Games are taking over, and they wrap up on September 8th.We are disappointed Tommy Vaudecrane, president of Technopol, doesn't hide his disappointment to AFP, but remains sportsmanlike. "We are disappointed, but we understand this exceptional situation," he says. This situation is the one of the JOP unfolding in Paris this summer, which has complicated the production of this symbolic event for electronic music lovers. "The float assembly site, Reuilly grassy area, is occupied until the end of November by a military camp required for the Olympic Games. No other site was available and no other date was possible," he specified. Regulars are therefore invited to wait one more year to find again the sacred Techno Parade and, thus, "make electronic music resonate in. With all of Paris".


Third cancellation in 25 years of existence 

Last year, around 400,000 people danced to the techno beats on the streets of Paris to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the parade. Started in 1998, only two editions of the Techno Parade have been called off: in 2001, after the attacks on the World Trade Center, and in 2021 due to Covid. Let's hope that the 2024 edition will be the last cancellation for a long time.
