This Thursday, September 11, the Trenitalia company – which has been establishing itself in the French rail landscape for the past few years – announced in a statement its intention to increase the number of trips between the capital and the city of Lyon. Starting in December, it will offer travelers wanting to go to Lyon an alternative to the SNCF's Ouigo and TGV services with rather attractive prices.

The "Red Arrows" on the Fast Track

Starting from December 14th (and believe us, it’s coming up quickly), Trenitalia is picking up the pace. After making a name for itself on the Paris-Marseille route, the Italian company is expanding its offerings by providing more trips to Lyon. While there are currently 9 daily round trips on this route, in just a few months, there will be 14 round trips performed each day by the Frecciarossa, the "Red Arrows," in addition to the existing trips.

te;ja assured by SNCF.

Despite its name suggesting unparalleled speed, this Paris-Lyon trip will take around 1 hour and 45 minutes, which is about the same time as our good old SNCF TGVs. And to compete with Thierry Marx, who manages the culinary offerings on SNCF trains, the meals with Italian flavors are crafted by the star chef Carlo Cracco.

The starting prices set at €23

« These additional frequencies aim to meet the ever-growing demand from travelers, whether they are professionals or leisure seekers, and confirm Trenitalia's commitment to providing accessible and sustainable mobility », assures the company according to 20 Minutes. Sounds great, but at what price ? Once again, Trenitalia is making a splash with starting prices set at 23€ between Paris and Lyon. And the good news is that the sale of these precious tickets at sweet prices is scheduled for Monday, September 15th at 8 AM sharp. All you have to do now is jump on the opportunity !
