One week, we could understand. Two weeks, okay. Four weeks, we're ready to make an effort. But when we learned that the RATP was planning to close a RER station for no less than nine weeks, let’s just say the shock was tough. And after weeks of dreading this service interruption, it’s finally here. Indeed, since this Monday, June 29, line A no longer stops at this major station. We’ll tell you everything you need to know.

A Stop at the Stop

This summer, you'll need to plan twice to get to the eastern part of Paris. And here's why: since today and until August 30, 2026, the stop will simply not be served by the RER A at the Nation station, the last stop in the capital before heading to the eastern suburbs. For no less than two consecutive months, there will be no train service.

will mark the stop, and connections will obviously no longer be accessible. It's a real blow for this station through which more than 3,400,000 travelers pass each year. To get to the station, you’ll need to be a bit creative, using the available metro lines: 2, 6, and 9. And unfortunately, this is not the only inconvenience that will affect users of the red line this summer.

A Slow August

Indeed, from August 8th to 23rd inclusive, the most frequented RER line in Europe will be completely interrupted between Vincennes and Noisy-le-Grand – Mont d'Est, due to modernization works. During this period, no trains will service the stations of Val de Fontenay, Neuilly-Plaisance, and Bry-sur-Marne, making travel along these tracks even trickier. A replacement bus will be put in place, but just a heads up, there’s a small chance your travel times may be extended if you take it. A little tip, if you live nearby and haven’t taken your summer vacation yet, it might be a great time to be strategic and plan your days off for the second half of the summer.
