So, as this week kicks off poorly for the simple reason that it has 5 working days, and we really think 3 or 4 day weeks are pretty great, this news about one of the busiest RER lines in the capital has really got us down. Indeed, from Monday, May 18, to Thursday, May 21, the B line will not be running in the evenings, and this applies to one of the biggest stretches of its route. To make matters worse, it will also be closed all weekend.
This week, we're going home early!
To start off, we’re tackling the most urgent news: this week, no RER B trains will run between Châtelet-les-Halles and its two northern terminuses, which are Mitry-Claye and Charles de Gaulle Airport 2 – TGV, due to construction work, starting at 10:45 PM and continuing until the end of service. So, well, oI won't hide from you that we rarely have a flight to catch on a Tuesday evening, but the lack of trains between Châtelet (also known as the largest underground station in the world) and Gare du Nord (aka the most frequented station in Europe) might indeed cause some issues. However, we have two solutions to minimize the hassle: head back early or switch to line 4, your choice. Bad news though, you'll have to get used to it, because these evening closures will last until September 2026!
🚧 Toute l’année, en semaine, à partir de 22h45, sauf certains jours, des travaux imposeront l’interruption des circulations entre Châtelet – Les Halles et l'Aéroport CDG 2 / Mitry-Claye.

A Challenging Weekend
Starting from May 23 until the 25th, things are getting a bit tricky. While some lucky folks are exempt from the solidarity day and can enjoy a 3-day weekend, us Parisians stuck in the capital will have to deal with not only our sadness but also with the inability to take the B line between Gare du Nord and Charles de Gaulle 2 – TGV and Mitry – Claye, for the entire 3 days. While there will be a replacement bus in the evenings this week, over the weekend, we'll have to find our own way to escape to the northeast of the capital.
