Transports: What to expect with the strike on September 10th in Paris?

At the start of the month of September, it's the end of vacation for everyone. For Parisians who are slowly finding their way back to work, as well as for the various unions and employees in France, who are loudly exercising their right to strike. And before gearing up again on September 18th, things kick off as early as tomorrow, with a national mobilization simply named « Block Everything ». But if everything is truly blocked, what can we expect in public transport tomorrow?


A Two-Speed Mobilization

Well, even though for the past few weeks, there's been a lot of buzz about a sort of apocalypse on September 10th, it seems that in reality, it might not be as disastrous as that. Indeed, the RATP announced on Monday, September 8th, very limited disruptions on the metro and bus network.

, as well as on the RER A (without further details) and no impact on the traffic of trams. Only the RER B is expected to be a bit more turbulent, but interconnection will be well maintained at the Gare du Nord.

On the other hand, for the lines managed by the SNCF, buckle up, the journey might be a bit more bumpy. 4 lines will be heavily disrupted: the RER D and the Transiliens H, K, and R. The RER C and the RER B on its section operated by the railway company, along with the N and U lines, will also be "very disrupted", which is slightly less than the first ones, but still significant. Lastly, on the Transiliens L and J as well as on the RER E, only a few minor disturbances are expected.

However, while the RATP won't be as affected tomorrow as the SNCF or most airlines, it’s only a temporary relief, as the 4 main unions...
