A trip to Montmartre before wrapping up at the Champs-Élysées

From July 5 to 27, 2025, the Tour de France will bring excitement to the entire country. The riders will face three climbs up the Butte Montmartre before finishing the race on the Champs-Élysées. According to various sources, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, has personally gotten involved to ensure the peloton's passage through Montmartre for the 21st and final stage of the route. This conclusion of the Tour de France will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first arrival on the famous Parisian avenue in 1975. So, the 2025 edition will have a special flavor!

Keeping the spirit of the Paris 2024 Games alive

This stage on the Butte Montmartre is a way to bring back to life the Olympic legacy. On August 3, 2024, runners will pass through the lively neighborhood of Montmartre filled with people. The idea of recreating this iconic moment from Paris 2024 in the summer of 2025 has been suggested early on among the organizers.

A few bumps in the road have disrupted this project, starting with construction on part of Rue Lepic since this winter. The installation of concrete planters caused issues for the runners, but a solution was quickly found, and a 50-meter detour will be set up to guide them around it. Some hesitations have also...t was heard, particularly from the police chief Laurent Nunez, who was worried about the massive influx of spectators and the need to deploy law enforcement accordingly. However, the project received the green light from the President of the Republic and the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, who is ready to provide 300 people to ensure safety and traffic flow. Can we expect that the route through Butte Montmartre will become a tradition? Only time will tell. In the meantime, mark your calendars from July 5 to 27 to enjoy the Tour de France.
