She’s back, that time when the subway is packed to the brim, when summer cyclists have put aside their trusty steeds due to the cold and are diving into the crowded trains that they “hate but still take because it’s warm. And to make matters worse, various works will take place over the next few weeks, leading to widespread closures on three lines of the RATP network: lines 6, 12, and 14.

A dark day on line 6

On Sunday, December 8, the service will be completely halted all day on line 6 between the stations Charles de Gaulle – Étoile and Trocadéro. Of course, replacement buses will be in place throughout the day to ensure travel. They will run in both directions from 5:15 AM to 1:15 AM.What's behind this closure? It's the modernization of the infrastructure in preparation for the rollout of the new MP89 trains, which we’ve already revealed to you with all the secrets. Okay, we admit that it can be a bit annoying in principle, but it's still a Sunday, and it’s likely to affect the tourists wanting to visit the Champs-Élysées or the Arc de Triomphe more than anything else.

And Two on Line 12

On the lovely pine green line, we’re not just talking about one, but really two days of hell to plan for: on Sunday the 8th, and also on Sunday the 15th of December. Fortunately, this time, there won’t be any disruption of service all day long, but only from 10 PM to the end of service. And since winter Sunday evenings are all about soup in front of the TV with a nice blanket, it hardly impacts us to know that the line, too, must undergo renovation work while we’re already dreaming sweet dreams. But hey, for the sake of fairness and transparency, we thought it was still important to let you know.

You Don't Change Good Habits on Line 14

Well, if you're a regular user of the 14 line, this news might not come as a surprise at all. Indeed, since September 9, no trains have been running between 10 PM and the end of service from Monday to Thursday. And unfortunately, this will continue until December 19. The only silver lining in this sea of bad news is that there are no plans for a complete closure on the weekends in December, unlike many times in the previous months. But hey, we just want to give you a heads-up, don’t get too excited just yet, the RATP has already announced that a new closure schedule will soon be available for January. Let’s catch up in a few weeks to see where we stand.
