The Editor

If you love extraordinary experiences (and retro vibes), this train is definitely for you. For a day, you’ll hop on a train from the 60s departing from the Gare de l’Est, heading to Champagne, with stops in Meaux and Château-Thierry before arriving in Épernay and Reims.

At the front, there’s a 1965 electric locomotive, the BB 17016, brought back to life by enthusiasts. Behind it, vintage cars with their original benches and finishes: no screens or futuristic designs here, just the raw charm of trains from the past. It’s a timeless experience that will appeal to both heritage fans and curious souls looking for a unique journey.

A disco car to liven up the journey

But the real surprise is hidden in the heart of the train, where a “disco car” reveals itself equipped with... a dance floor and a bar. In this one-of-a-kind carriage, you can sip a drink in between dance moves.e, rocked by the ambiance of the vintage train.

Snacks, hot or cold drinks, breakfast on the way, sandwiches and local specialties on the return… everything is planned to turn the journey into a delightful experience. And for those with higher demands, a premium option even allows you to enjoy table service with some tasty treats.

Preserving the railway heritage

Behind this initiative, The Friends of Paris Saint-Lazare Agents has been gathering about a hundred volunteers, railway workers, and enthusiasts since 2015, dedicated to saving and bringing historical railway materials back to life, not just as showcases, but actually on the tracks.

We assure you: with retro seating, a drink in hand, and a detour through Champagne, it’s hard not to get swept away.
