An iconic landmark of Parisian luxury, Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré is about to get a beautiful makeover. Supported by the City of Paris and funded with the help of the prestigious Comité du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, this must-visit Parisian avenue is set to undergo a complete transformation, allowing for more greenery and fewer cars.

This winter, it's one of the most famous and bustling streets in the capital, where fashion enthusiasts, locals, and visitors from around the world come together to step into a new era. No more honking, sidewalk traffic jams, or grey shades: this project has been designed with the environment and pedestrians in mind.


A Project Focused on the Future

At the heart of this construction, the pedestrian is king once again. The sidewalks will be generously widened to allow for smooth and pleasant strolls in front of the iconic couture houses of Paris. The urban furniture is also getting an upgrade with elegant granite benches, planters, and custom-designed metal tree grates to surround the future greenery. The goal is clear: to modernize this street while ensuring the architectural identity and spirit remain intact.

The noble aspect of this neighborhood.

On the vegetation side, the street will feature a carefully selected range of plants designed to withstand the Parisian climate, water stress, and climate change. The plants will be low water consumers, capable of thriving in poor soil and will require very little maintenance. A landscaping company will manually weed every week, and no pesticides will be used in these green spaces: a lovely breath of fresh air for this street that is, today, struggling to breathe.

A project designed with locals in mind

To bring this project to life without disrupting one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the 8th, the work will be phased until December 2027. It started on June 15, 2026 with the relocation of drainage grates and Enedis stepping in to secure the network, and the next phases will follow methodically for another year and a half. No need to worry, as pedestrian traffic and access to all shops and residences will of course be ensured throughout the construction period.

This ambitious plan reflects the true commitment of the City of Paris to adapt to its new climate, by multiplying...linking the green spaces and limiting pollution while giving more room to pedestrians. By combining the refinement of the grand houses it houses with sustainable development, Faubourg Saint-Honoré confirms its status as an exceptional Parisian artery.
