This spring, Parisians and residents of the 20th will have to deal with a new series of construction work in public transport. From Wednesday, April 8 to Tuesday, May 12, 2026, RATP will partially close metro line 3.

Trains will no longer run between Gambetta and Gallieni, on the east side of the line. During this period, Gambetta will become the temporary terminus, and all trips beyond that will require a replacement bus. This construction, which coincides with spring break, is expected to affect a large number of travelers.

Gallieni and Porte de Bagnolet Completely Inaccessible

For the entire duration of these 35 consecutive days, the stations Gallieni and Porte de Bagnolet will be fully closed to travelers. Therefore, it will not be possible to board or disembark at these stops. This leads RATP to strongly recommend that users allow extra time for their journeys and check the schedules or alternative routes to avoid any unpleasant surprises upon arrival.

A bus service to ease the hassle

To address this interruption, RATP will set up a replacement bus between Gambetta and Gallieni, just like they often do for this kind of work. This bus will run all day long, covering the busy hours and allowing travelers to keep reaching the east of Paris despite the partial closure. Even though this service makes getting around easier, travel times will be longer, so it's a good idea to plan ahead and leave a bit earlier.

To minimize inconveniences, Parisians are invited to follow the official information from RATP. Moreover, at the same time, there are also disruptions expected on lines 12 and 14, which confirms that public transport in Paris is set to be particularly disrupted this spring.
