It’s an iconic brand of warehouse stores in Brazil, and it made its way to France just two years ago, with the support of Carrefour. At Atacadão, the motto is simple: cut costs and pass the savings directly to the final price.
The store in Aulnay-sous-Bois O’Parinor, located just 40 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord, is a perfect example of this concept. The space has been redesigned warehouse-style, featuring visible boxes and pallets on the floor, offering everyday products, fresh items, organic options, and even French references from small businesses. Every Thursday, special offers liven up the shelves, creating a must-visit event for bargain hunters.

Mini Prices Thanks to a Concept from Brazil
But beyond these promotions, Atacadão goes for a bold approach: less focus on presentation, more economic sense. The clearance sales let you take advantage of end-of-line items or surplus goods at rock-bottom prices, while the warehouse-store setup features XXL packaging with discounted pricing: the more you buy, the lower the price per unit.

Once considered niche, this model now appeals to a wide audience : the number of discount stores in France has more than doubled in the last ten years, and 82% of consumers regularly shop there to save money. This is proof that these low-cost formats are becoming a tangible response to inflation, while sustainably changing shopping habits.

Comparing the price per kilo is also essential because buying in bulk doesn't always mean you're getting a good deal. Similarly, the model becomes particularly interesting when you share your purchases with loved ones. Otherwise, the famous «shopping cart for under 50 euros» can quickly turn into a mirage.
