C’est quoi ce concert de klaxon Place d’Italie depuis plus de 30 minutes ? C’est pire qu’un mariage et une victoire de match de foot réuni.

A Super Tight Ranking
First and foremost, we want to make things clear. We are far from the catastrophic ratings of Parisian train stations or the huge gaps we used to see between different districts. Here, everything is very close, and most importantly, there is (on paper) no place with a heartbreaking rating, as they all fall between 4.1 and 4.9.
So it's Place d'Italie that ends up at the bottom, tied with Jussieu Square (but smaller, and with fewer ratings, so it deserves a little more respect). However, as we just mentioned, nothing dramatic, and the reviews are quite kind. We still decided to share Pascale Zachwalinsky B's opinion, who has a strong dislike for the place and declares: "I'm there 4 days a week and the Place d'Italie with its never-ending construction work is very ugly, like everywhere in Paris, and.""She is not a big fan of the capital city because it is very dirty."

Small Squares Are All the Rage
By taking a closer look at the ranking, we can see that most of the time, small squares are better rated than the large ones: Furstenberg and Louis Aragon at 4.6, Colette at 4.7. It's probably because of the reduced traffic, abundance of greenery, and peaceful atmosphere. On the other hand, Nation or Bastille are at the bottom of the ranking, and with the construction work and cars, it's understandable.
To our surprise, the best square in the capital city, according to its residents, is none other than Place Georges Pompidou, just ahead of the Centre Pompidou. Pompidou. And we can say that she is doing well, with a magnificent 4.9/5 rating. A place (in terms of "ranking" this time) that could surprise, when you know how some people lament the ugliness of the museum, the too many pigeons, its cobblestone floor, etc. And eEspecially when its neighbor, the Place Stravinsky, is at the bottom of the ranking (despite its superb statues).

The forgotten gems of Paris
However, once these observations are established, we still want to set the record straight, and dot the i's and cross the t's, by specifying that, to create this list, we only selected places with over 50 reviews on Google Maps, and that some locations we were expecting to see on this list were spared, due to lack of votes.
This is especially the case with Place de l'Étoile, which was actually our top choice for the worst place, due to its mainly deadly traffic. The same goes for Denfert-Rochereau, Place du Colonel Fabien, and even Stalingrad, about which we could probably complain for hours. Luckily for them, they dodged a bullet… at least this time.
