Even if the weather remains quite ambiguous on this matter, there's no doubt, we're getting closer and closer to summer. That's wonderful news on one hand, as for many of us, vacation has never been so close. But on the other hand, it's also the sign of the big return of summer construction work on the public transport network in the Île-de-France region.

A July at a Standstill

Every year, it's the same old song. Just a few weeks before the summer festivities begin, we have to face the facts: it's already time to plan your travels for July and August, and especially, if necessary, to schedule your vacation days around the metro work. And we'll give you a heads-up, if you're a fan of line 13 — whether by choice or necessity, we don't judge anyone!

dash;, unless you have hundreds of vacation days to spare, you’re definitely going to be affected. Indeed, the light blue line will be inaccessible between the stations Châtillon – Montrouge and Malakoff – Rue Étienne Dolet, and that’s from July 6 to July 26, which is no less than 20 days! A replacement bus will be set up, but that doesn’t exactly put our minds at ease.

A month of August far from making up for the damage

And in August, here we go again, another partial service interruption! This time it's a bit shorter, as it will take place from July 31 to August 17 “only”, but this time it will affect the branch between Saint-Denis – Université and La Fourche, which is a slightly busier area than the southern zone impacted in July. Yes, it’s true, even though the University of Saint-Denis will be closed due to school holidays. Here too, there will be a replacement bus. Additionally, the Vanves station will be closed from August 6 to 9, and the line will be completely inaccessible on Sunday mornings, August 2, 16, and 30. We simply hope that with all this work, &at the start of the school year, line 13 will defy all the clichés about it, and will rise in our ranking of the best metro lines in Paname.
