This morning, Parisians woke up to a deluge. Coats, umbrellas, and covered shoes had to be taken out of the closet, just five days after the start of September. A day that sadly reminds us of the end of summer, and it will almost entirely take place in the rain.

Up to 25 millimeters of rainfall
Meteorologists are predicting rainfall of up to 25 millimeters. The yellow alert for rain and flooding will stay in effect until around 3 PM. There might even be thunderstorms this morning! The rain, which started last night at midnight, will be more scattered in the afternoon before it wraps up this evening. But be aware, light rain could still hang around into the night.
From the cozy 25°C we saw in the capital last weekend, not much is left. Today’s temperatures will be a brisk 15°C in the morning and 16°C in the afternoon. Make sure to bundle up: a gentle northwesterly breeze will be blowing!

450 kilometers of traffic jams on the ring road!
On Thursday, September 5th, the drivers were the first to feel the effects of the gloomy weather. Getting on the roads in Île-de-France today calls for a good dose of patience because of the traffic jams caused by the harsh conditions. According to the traffic barometer from Sytadin, there were 450 kilometers of traffic jams recorded at 8:40 AM. The outer ring road between the Porte de Vincennes and Porte de Montreuil was also closed due to a minor accident.

After the rain comes the sunshine: rest easy, the weather is going to be much kinder tomorrow. Warmer temperatures are expected on Friday, September 6th: the values will range between 14 and 24°C. What a lovely change after this gloomy day under the gray sky.
