Attention, users of the oldest line in Paris, I named it 1, and also to those unfortunate enough to have to deal with the worst line in the world, aka line 13. According to RATP, the station Champs-Élysées - Clemenceau will be closed on December 12 and 13, for an official ceremony taking place this Friday the 13th. Naturally, given the symbolic date, there had to be a little mishap!

An Obscure Ceremony

For two days, it will be impossible to go up or down at the station Champs-Élysées - Clemenceau. And for good reason, the station will not be served by either line 1 or line 13. Trains will not stop there, and no transfers will be available. According to the police prefecture, this is due to an official ceremony happening on Friday all day.the day.

Many personalities will come together to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the republican security companies, established on December 8, 2024. For those who might not be familiar, we’re talking about the CRS, with several groups marching through the capital tomorrow. The parade will kick off from Place Clemenceau after a flag raising and some historical activities, making its way to Avenue Winston-Churchill.

Closure Overload

Unfortunately, this is neither the first nor the last time that metro stations will be closed in the capital during the month of December. Just last weekend, a number of stops were affected by the reopening of Notre-Dame.

In the same spirit, after being closed last Sunday, a section of the 12 will be inaccessible again this Sunday, the 15th.

The latest train drama: the closure of the Tuileries station for three consecutive weekends this month, all to manage the crowds at the Christmas market in the beautifully named garden. Of course, we won't mention the shutdowns affecting line 14, as it's become so routine that we hardly even notice it anymore. But hey, all this just goes to show that once again this week, things are a bit topsy-turvy.
