Clearly, RATP knows how to keep us happy. After 9 lines under construction last summer, and hundreds of disruptions since, we're diving straight into the upcoming interruptions next year. And following the closure of République on line 8 for 9 months, Nation being inaccessible all summer, or the all-too-frequent evening interruptions on line 12, it's another tough blow, this time impacting all travelers on line 4, which is the 2nd busiest line in the capital.

No rest for the brave

We know, taking the metro in Paris feels a bit like joining a giant escape game. You always have to show some creativity!

of creativity to avoid disruptions, anticipate interruptions, and above all survive in the crazy world that fills the corridors covered with white tiles. Who will next need to show common sense to navigate the murky waters of the RATP? The users of line 4.

Unfortunately, the purple line will be inaccessible between Château Rouge and Châtelet for no less than 12 days. From April 20 to May 1, 2026, a total of 8 stations will be unreachable, including the 2 busiest in the capital: Les Halles and Gare du Nord. A brand new metro

Behind this latest interruption of service — during which no transfers will obviously be provided — lies, unsurprisingly, new modernization works. This involves regenerating and developing the network to ensure its modernization by 2030, as stated on the website of the Paris transport authority.

And as if good news never comes alone, here we go again next summer, because Line 4 will be closed for no less than 19 days, from July 6 to July 24. During this time, the line will be completely inaccessible between the stations Les Halles and Vavin. Once again, 8 stations will be completely inaccessible, including the largest underground station in the world: Châtelet.
