It’s being called a “weather bomb.” The shadow of Storm Eowyn hangs over the United Kingdom, and also over the north of France: the winds will be gentler than across the Channel, but they could still gust up to 80-90 km/h along the coast and in Île-de-France. From heavy rains are set to hit the region starting this Thursday, January 23, and they’re expected to last until next week: it’s time to dig out those umbrellas, or find some shelter!

Softer temperatures to welcome the rain
You’ve probably noticed that the icy air following the holidays has timidly warmed up since the beginning of the week. Gone are the chilly 1, 2, or 3 degrees during the day: starting today, temperatures are reaching 8 degrees on Thursday, 11 degrees on Friday, and even climbing to 13 degrees next Monday.
However, with each silver lining comes a cloud: alongside this winter warmth is the wind from the Eowyn depression. While France is on the “fringe of the storm ”, gusts are expected starting this Thursday that will intensify tomorrow, even in Île-de-France. As explained here, things are going to get interesting!
