This Monday, October 12, despite a government proposal this Friday, October 9 to add 3,000 teachers to struggling schools, blockades are ramping up again in the capital's high schools. A new week of demonstrations to fight against poor teaching conditions, which will peak around two major protest days, this Tuesday, October 13, and Saturday, October 17.
High school students leading the charge
For starters, in addition to the ongoing blockade, Paris and Île-de-France high school students are inviting everyone who wants to join to gather this Tuesday, October 13 at Place d'Italie, starting at 2 p.m. However, the route and final destination of the protest have not yet been announced. A mobilization
action that concerns students, but also education professionals, from primary school teachers to university professors. A second gathering day is then scheduled for this Saturday, October 17, expanding this time to many more professional sectors.MARDI 13 OCTOBRE : MANIFESTATION ÉTUDIANTE & LYCÉENNE : NOUVEL ACTE. 14H DÉPART DE LA PLACE D'ITALIE. https://t.co/0dw1ktH80g

Coming Together for Change
Indeed, this weekend, the demonstrations will be marked by a gathering of social movements. On one side, high school students of course, joined by their teachers, supervisors and parents. But also the Yellow Vests movement, led notably by the transport sector (airports and SNCF), public finances, and La Poste. In addition to student demands, there will be calls regarding the rising cost of living and fuel prices. For now, the starting point of the demonstration has not been confirmed, even though République and Bastille had been sugges
evoked. The question now is whether this new day of mobilization will have an impact on transportation, particularly train departures on this first weekend of the All Saints' Day holidays.Infos utiles pour la manifestation du 17 octobre. https://t.co/R1VHOROh0V
