This Wednesday, April 24th, almost exactly three months before the opening ceremony of the Olympics, two planes will fly over the capital starting at 3pm before releasing 15 parachutists above the Invalides. What does this have to do with the Olympics, you may ask? Well, it's simply part of the tour of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic flags.

Get ready for an incredible spectacle in the beautiful city of Paris today! The sky above Paris will come alive with a thrilling show featuring Olympic flags. You won't want to miss this exciting event! The action kicks off at 3pm with a plane taking off and 15 daring parachutists jumping out with flags representing different countries. Watch as they glide through the sky above Invalides before landing gracefully on the ground below. But that's not all! A second plane will take to the skies later in the evening, flying over iconic landmarks from Porte de Vanves to Porte Maillot. Keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse of this flying machine as it soars over the city without dropping anyone off. Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience happening today in Paris!


A Large-Scale Operation

This is a major communication event that required days of preparation, in collaboration with the Paris police headquarters (which granted permission, as flying over the capital is prohibited), as well as the Air Force Defense and Operations Command (yes, it's a lot of words, in the industry, we simply call it CDAOA).

To ensure the safety of the parachutists upon landing, many streets in the 7th district will be closed between 3:15 PM and 3:50 PM this Wednesday, April 24. Here is the list: Marshal Gallieni Avenue, Saint-Dominique Street from Fabert Street to Constantine Street, Gren.she, between Fabert street and Constantine street, University street, between Fabert street and Constantine street, Fabert street, Constantine street and Robert-Esnault-Pelterie street.

At least you are warned. And then, do not hesitate to take your eyes off your computers for a few minutes this afternoon if you are in the area, to enjoy a show that promises to be friendly!
