5 new measures for back-to-school 2026
1. Sick leave duration is changing
Starting September 1st, 2026, a cap on sick leave is being imposed. The leave cannot exceed one month on the initial prescription and the extension cannot exceed 62 days except in case of necessity.

3. Less unemployment benefits for negotiated departures
Until now, it was possible to receive 18 months of unemployment benefits following a negotiated departure for those under 55, but this duration is being reduced to 15 months as of September 1st, 2026, and to 20.5 months for those over 55.
4. A survey on sexual violence in schools
In total, ten million students from kindergarten through high school will be surveyed in November with the aim of free speech » on the subject of sexual violence. They can respond anonymously or not.

5. Mandatory Electronic Invoicing
