For several months now, a genuine scandal has been shaking the capital, following far too numerous accusations of sexual violence committed by after-school program instructors. In response to this situation, the City of Paris, alongside the Maison des femmes and Sainte-Anne psychiatric hospital, has decided to establish a space of over 550 m² dedicated to supporting victims.
A symbol of hope
Rise. That's the name of this brand new center, which could undoubtedly change lives very soon. Rise, standing for "Resilience, Support, Incest, Hope," but also as a tribute to Maya Angelou's poem Still I Rise, a true anthem of courage and dignity in the face of oppression. A facility that arrives at just the right moment, as the
child psychiatry is severely lacking funds and professionals, who struggle to manage their workload, particularly when it comes to supporting trauma victims. And that's precisely where the center aims to make a difference, by following patients for between six months and a minimum of two years.🇨🇵 Le centre RISE ouvrira à Paris en janvier 2027 pour accompagner les jeunes de 3 à 25 ans victimes de violences sexuelles. Grâce à un suivi adapté et à la formation des professionnels, il contribuera à mieux protéger les victimes et à les aider à se reconstruire. 🩵 (Le Parisien) 📸 image d'illustration

Hundreds of Cases Supported Each Year
In total, Ghada Hatem, founder of the House of Women, is planning to welcome no fewer than 600 visitors per year. Each person will benefit from a personalized welcome journey, and will have access to various professionals, such as pediatricians, psychologists, gynecologists, and more. Children will be admitted from age 3 upon request from a school, a legal professional or a parent, and from age 15 on the teenager's request alone. While the first consultations should take place before the end of the year, the center will officially open in January, in a two-story building in the 10th arrondissement, located between Gare de l'Est and République.
