This is a very bad news for the RER C passengers. While the service for the Issy station towards Paris-Versailles was expected to resume next October, just a few weeks from now, it seems that travelers will have to be patient. Indeed, the SNCF has just pushed back the end date of the work by 4 or 5 months.

A construction project that keeps getting longer

This summer, the RER C underwent major renovations, resulting in a closure of no less than 6 consecutive weeks across several sections of the line. From July 15 to August 23, many residents found it impossible to get to work or enjoy the numerous exhibitions in the capital over the weekends. But for others, the struggles had already begun.

Starting in April, with the closure of the Issy station towards Versailles, which was supposed to reopen its doors in a few weeks.

Bad news, though! The closure of the platform, which was urgently decided due to the growing danger of wild crossings, will last much longer than initially planned. In fact, a new schedule has been quietly published on social media over the summer. « The Issy station will only be served in the direction: Versailles-Château towards Paris, from Sunday, August 24 until early January 2026 », can be read in the post.

The Start of the Struggles

And unfortunately for the fans of the yellow line, this message came as a double blow, as SNCF also took advantage of it!to announce the closure of the same station, this time in both directions, from January 12 to March 6, 2026. This means, in summary, that the station, which welcomes 8000 passengers per day, will not be operational again until spring 2026.

Behind this extremely long closure, there’s a new pedestrian crossing being set up, which will be safer, under the tracks. At the same time, the construction for connecting to the future metro line 15 is creating multiple work zones in and around the station. With this information, we wish lots of courage to all the residents of Issy in the coming months.
