There are some news in life that are both good and bad. When you have nothing to eat for breakfast (oh no!), and you have to stop at the bakery to grab a croissant on your way to work (yum!). When you spill a glass of red wine on your sofa cushion (ugh), but it was a hideous gift from an aunt you’re not too fond of (perfect!). When the 13 line is closed for maintenance and you have to change your habits (so annoying), but that means the worst line in Paris is getting a makeover (yay!).
2 dark days on the blue line
We all know, riding the 13 is hell. Between technical problems, crowded cars, and various delays, we sometimes feel ready to take detours of several minutes just to avoid getting on the sky-blue line. Yet, the situation...
could soon change, since the most hated metro line in Paris — &equal; with the line 8, and almost caught up by line 9, we admit — is currently undergoing a massive modernization.

It's a project that we can only support, but unfortunately it involves a few closures here and there. The next dates to mark in your calendars? Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1, coming up soon! Thankfully (or not), during these 48 hours, only the section between La Fourche and Asnières-Gennevilliers - Les Courtilles will be unavailable (including connections). The rest of the line will be running smoothly, and a replacement bus will be put in place for the entire duration of the work.
Users not at the end of their troubles
Unfortunately, this partial closure is just a little warm-up for what awaits us this summer. Indeed, from July 31 to August 17, 2026, it will be the northeast branch, between Saint-Denis Université and Porte de Saint-Ouen, that will be closed.
This time, for 3 weeks. Once again, 6 stations will be completely inaccessible, and there will be no connections available. Behind these partial closures are track renewal and modernization works, getting ready for both the upcoming automation of the line and the arrival of the new MF19 trains.Retour dans la pire ligne de métro de Paris, la ligne 13 pic.twitter.com/lfPkeHXY2c
