After a summer of waiting, the event is confirmed. Cancelled at the last moment on June 27th due to the intense heat wave, Paris Pride finally gets its revenge. After much discussion, organizers have announced the new date: Saturday, October 3rd. A date that's a bit less summery than planned, but just as festive, activist, and obviously bursting with colour.

From June to October, Pride extends the celebration

Originally, the Pride March was supposed to take place during Pride Month, celebrated every year in June in tribute to the Stonewall riots of 1969, a founding event for LGBTQIA+ activism. But this year, temperatures got the better of the schedule, as a police prefect's ruling led to the cancellation of the march, in a context of intense heat that had also led to the cancellation of the f

estival Solidays. At the time, the organizers had made one promise: that Pride would take place in 2026, no matter what. A promise kept. While the month may change, the message remains the same: defending equal rights and celebrating LGBTQIA+ people.

First organized in France in 1981, the Pride March brings together thousands of people in the streets of the capital every year. And this autumn edition should keep the DNA we know, with committed speeches from the start of the day, a militant and festive atmosphere, then a big free show on Place de la République.

Meet at Place d'Italie

As for the route, the march departs around 1:30 PM from Place d'Italie in the 13th district, before crossing several major Parisian avenues. Marchers will pass notably through Avenue des Gobelins, Boulevard Saint-Germain and Place de la Bastille, before reaching Place de la République. And upon arrival, as usual, it's time for the big spectacle. The traditional main stage will host artists and speeches to wrap up this day filled with celebration, visibility and commitment. All of it, completely free, sotradition wants it. Anyway, this year, Paris Pride swaps its June tank tops for mid-season jackets, but definitely not its energy!
