This is such an exciting announcement for those who are planning to travel by train next summer. Received on France info on the morning of December 7th, the Minister of Transportation, Clément Beaune, confirmed that the pass rail will be launched starting in 2024. Just like Germany did, this measure includes being able to "travel unlimitedly on TER and Intercités" for "a very affordable price, around €49 per month," he specified.

A freeze on Ouigo rates

And the good news doesn't stop there! The minister has also announced the "freeze on rates" for Ouigo and Intercités trains for the coming year. This means that prices will not increase and let's be honest, that's really pleasing. This "price shield" will be implemented to allow as many people as possible to take the train. "It's one in four TGVs, it's the TGV that young people, people with little means take. This allows for accessible high-speed travel on many lines," explained Clément Beaune.

Unchanged price ceilings with the Avantage card

If you have an Avantage card, Clément Beaune claims to have "demanded that there be no new increase in 2024 on the price ceilings". They had increased by 5% in August 2023. "The train must be affordable and popular," he says.
