For the past few days, major Parisian festivals have been announcing their lineups. It's true that with the holidays just around the corner, they're hoping to make a good chunk of their sales. Yet one of the most anticipated events of the year was still missing from the roster, and Le Parisien just revealed why: Rock en Seine won't normally be back at the end of August like it is every year.

A space undergoing major transformation

Last year, it was the Solidays festival that was forced to cancel its 2026 edition at the last minute due to extreme heat. Next summer, we'll likely have to do without Rock en Seine. Indeed, the festival created in 2003 should announce very soon the cancellation of its 2027 edition, according to information revealed by Le Parisien.

For the third time in its history, the festival could therefore not take place, and this time, not because of a global pandemic as was the case in 2020 and 2021, but rather... construction work! Indeed, in just a few weeks, a massive construction site should begin located between the Saint-Cloud bridge, the A13 tunnel, Clemenceau square and the Avenue de la Grille d'honneur, situated at the main entrance to the Saint-Cloud National Estate, and thus the festival. A major transformation that will still be in full swing over the summer, preventing the circulation of the tens of thousands of spectators expected.

A backup plan under consideration

Facing this calendar clash, the festival organizers have announced they don't want to give up

s arms
, and is already considering holding another event, in the month of July. A gathering that's much more intimate, featuring just a single stage and bringing a different vibe. The only problem, however, is that most French and international artists have already locked in their schedules for next summer, and the new dates being proposed, from July 13 to 15, would clash with another music event, the latest addition to Paris's festival family : OFF TRACKS, which will take place from July 9 to 20 at the Hippodrome ParisLongchamps. A story to keep an eye on then, and in the meantime, we're grabbing ouraces pour tout le reste sans tarder.
