Here’s a tradition that Paris wouldn’t miss for anything in the world: Earth Hour. What is it all about? It’s a global movement initiated by WWF, where we turn off the lights of the most famous monuments around the globe. This 2026 edition, happening on Saturday, March 28, will have a special flavor as it celebrates 20 years of the event!

An international movement for the environment
A seemingly simple action that carries a very special symbolic weight. Once a year, 185 countries celebrate Earth Hour and thereby demonstrate their ecological commitment. New York, London, Sydney, Singapore, as well as Paris, Lille, Rouen, Lyon, Marseille, and La Rochelle join forces and are plunged into darkness for one hour.
What’s the goal of such an initiative? To collectively raise awareness about our hyper-connected lifestyles and consumption habits and the dangers our planet faces. More concretely, this blackout, though it lasts only an hour, allows us to save several thousand tons of CO2.
