As every year, Euromonitor International, a global database, has just unveiled its ranking of the most attractive cities in the world. And looking at the results, two things are clear. First of all, with no less than 6 cities in the top 10, the Old Continent is really on fire. And second, despite what the jealous and the forever dissatisfied may say, the French capital is truly the best city in the world!

Based on 55 very objective criteria, divided into 6 specific areas, the research company has established its ranking and named Paris the most attractive city in the world for the 5th consecutive year. Paris earned the gold medal thanks to its tourism performance, tourist infrastructures, policies and tourist appeal, health and safety, sustainability, and economic performance.

France has once again dominated the ranking this year, partly due to the global recognition of the French capital in 2024, boosted by the Olympic Games, as well as the reopening of Notre-Dame, which continues to shine.

One thing is for sure, looking at the ranking changes compared to 2024, some cities are establishing themselves as must-visit tourist spots year after year. The only big change from last year is that Barcelona moves up from 10th to 8th place — bumping Sydney out altogether — and Seoul makes a spectacular entrance at 10th place.
