It's the scenario we feared the most would happen again. On Friday, July 10, 2026, Météo-France announced that it has placed 24 departments in the north and west of France on red heatwave alert for Saturday, July 11, starting at 12 PM. And of course, all of Île-de-France is included. The meteorological agency explains this with the statement: « a mass of very hot air [that] is stagnant over the country for several days, leading to a prolonged heatwave episode ».

Safety Guidelines to Follow
Just a reminder, during a heatwave, it's absolutely essential to stay hydrated throughout the day. Make sure to eat enough and avoid alcohol. Don’t hesitate to cool yourself down with some water and enjoy a breeze. If possible, keep your home cool by closing your curtains and shutters, and only open the windows once the temperatures have dropped a bit. Physical exertion is not recommended. If you have any doubts or feel uncomfortable, please reach out to your doctor or call 15.
