The Editor

He left us 8 years ago, and today, the city of Paris has decided to pay homage to him by giving him the name of one of its streets. I named him David Bowie, aka Ziggy Stardust, aka Major Tom, aka The White Duke... From Monday, January 8th, a street in the 13th arrondissement will proudly bear the name of this rock icon.

From London to Paris

Jérôme Coumet, mayor of the 13th arrondissement, announced it as early as 2020. The district is ready to welcome this new street name at 61, avenue Pierre-Mendès-France. The inauguration will take place on January 8th, David Bowie's birthday, starting at 4:15 PM. Then, it's at the festival hall of the 13th City Hall that it's happening, with an evening in tribute to Bowie, hosted by Jérôme Soligny, friend and biographer of the British artist, with lots of surprise guests and a c.Concert by Clifford Slapper.

Also the opportunity to see the exhibition dedicated to the genius of music in the Athéna Gallery of the town hall, which will remain in place from January 4 to 14, 2024. An exhibition conceived by two childhood friends of the artist: MacCormack, photographer, and George Underwood, painter. Discover it with "Heroes" playing in your headphones!
