We all know as Parisians, the sun has always been a very shy ally in the capital and its surroundings. We are all familiar with harsh winters and March showers. And yet, these past few months seem to break all records. While the equivalent of a month's worth of rain fell in Lyon this weekend and floods wreaked havoc in the Rhône region, the Île-de-France area has experienced its seventh consecutive particularly rainy month.


Paris sets a new record

For the past seven months, the levels of rain have been exceptional in Paris and throughout the Île-de-France region. The sky has been grey and umbrellas have been a daily necessity. Weather journalist and presenter on BFMTV, Kévin Floury, explains that since October 1st...In 2023, every month ended with precipitation exceeding 60 millimeters, sometimes even more. This is the first time such an observation has been recorded in Île-de-France since the beginning of measurements (about 65 years ago).
