Despite the current controversies surrounding the cleanliness of the city and its treatment of tourists, as the Olympics approach, it seems that internationally, the City of Light still holds a great reputation. Forbes has just revealed a top 100 list of the best cities to visit, compiled by Euromonitor International, and Paris takes the lead in all aspects.

According to 55 very objective criteria, the research company has established its ranking, taking into account sustainability, tourist infrastructure, politics, and economic performance.

And while Europe largely dominates the leaderboard, with 63 cities ranked out of 100, we can see a strong (and new) presence of Asia, with Tokyo's entry in the top 10 of the ranking, directly in fourth place!
Overall, it seems that the ranking is quite consistent with the travel trends observed throughout the year, and highlights the new destinations.
