In Paris, brunch is more than just a meal - it's practically a religion! A delightful combination of breakfast and lunch, typically enjoyed on lazy weekends, brunch has now extended its reach in Paris. You can now find restaurants offering brunch anytime, all week long! Some places have even built their entire concept around brunch, like Immersion, Papilles, and Season. In other words, brunch lovers have plenty of options to choose from in Paris. A recent study by Italki, a language learning app, has crowned Paris as the ultimate brunch capital of the world! Yes, that's right. Being officially declared the brunch capital of the world is quite a classy title for Paris. And it totally makes sense! With "a wide range of brunch spots to cater to every craving", it's the ideal spot to enjoy a laid-back meal with friends. A true paradise for brunch lovers! With a whopping 1,676 brunch spots to pick from (that's 7.74 for every 10,000 people), Paris offers a diverse range of options to suit all tastes, thanks to its eclectic culinary scene," as revealed by the study. The study compiled data to give each city a score out of 10 based on factors like the number of brunch spots per 10,000 residents, monthly Google searches, and the average cost of brunch for two. Paris took home a score of 7.71/10, beating out Lisbon and Barcelona, who claimed the 2nd and 3rd spots with scores of 5.80/10 and 5.40/10, respectively.

What makes Paris stand out in this ranking is not only the abundance of brunch spots, but also the high volume of Google searches for "Brunch in Paris", with a whopping 90,500 monthly searches. This is significantly higher than in other cities like Rome (12,100), Prague (6,600), and Seville. Clearly, Parisians have an insatiable appetite for brunch.

But not the least expensive city

Despite its top ranking, Paris remains one of the priciest cities for brunching, with an average meal for two costing £63.21 (approximately €75). This is considerably more expensive than Lisbon or Prague where it's less than €50. However, for brunch enthusiasts, Paris is still a must-visit destination. Other cities that made the list include Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, with an average cost of £73.85, and Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, where brunch will set you back.This amounts to £74.50, around €88 for two people.


The best places to brunch in Paris

To complement its study, Italki also reveals its list of 10 places to brunch in Paris by analyzing search volumes on Google and data from social media, particularly TikTok and Instagram. The Café Kitsuné tops the list of the most popular brunch restaurants in Paris, with over 144.3 million TikTok and Instagram posts and nearly 6,600 Google searches per month. It is followed by Comptoir Gé .neral, with a respectable number of 6,882 posts on TikTok and Instagram and over 49,500 Google searches each month.
