In the month of April, a sad news shook all the movie buffs of the capital: UGC Normandie, symbol of the 7th art in Paris, definitively closes its doors after 87 years of loyal service. The cinema on the Champs-Élysées avenue bids its final farewell this Thursday, June 13, not without leaving us with some memories as a grand auction will be held starting at 2 pm. An opportunity to take home a chair, a sign letter, or even unique photos of actors and directors from around the world.
An auction to support sick children
Organized by Rêve de cinéma association, the auction will support its actions. Its mission? Providing access to culture and entertainment to sick and disabled children and adolescents through events and projects. Goodbye UGC Normandie
This auction marks the end of nearly a month of celebrations bidding farewell to the iconic cinema. From May 1st to June 13th, they hosted various screenings of classic films and even some lively concerts. The big question now is what will happen to the building. The famous cinema Rex in Paris has already closed its doors, leaving behind a legacy and its 4 screening rooms. Currently, there have been no public buyers stepping forward.
