It's an understatement to say that it was eagerly awaited! After a decade of waiting, and with several cinemas recently closing their doors in Paris, the 11th arrondissement will welcome a brand new cinema in 2026, just a stone's throw from Place de la République and the vibrant Oberkampf neighborhood.
Located on Avenue Parmentier, this ambitious project is set in an old factory from the 20th century, specifically a power station that has now been fully restored and redesigned. Named Étoile Voltaire, this new cultural gem aims to blend industrial heritage, contemporary creation, and neighborhood friendliness. It's a bold venture that's already shaping up to be a success!

5 movie theaters, a green rooftop, and a community restaurant
Inside, film lovers can enjoy five state-of-the-art screening rooms, designed for optimal comfort and total immersion. But the experience doesn't stop at the seats and the screen.
The building will also feature a fully green rooftop, a true bubble of greenery perched above the avenue. You'll find a café and a community restaurant, with kitchens run by a team trained by Thierry Marx's schools. Expect inventive and committed cuisine to savor before or after a screening, all while enjoying stunning views of the neighborhood.

A future cultural and engaged living space
More than just a cinema, Étoile Voltaire aims to become a true living space. The site will also host the House of Cinema, a dedicated area for meetings, workshops, masterclasses and cultural events, in partnership with the Society of Film Directors.
