Let’s be honest, when we found out that line 13 would be closed for a considerable amount of time in the summer of 2026, we didn’t know whether to cry or jump for joy. Because while any traffic disruption usually brings challenges, especially when the line stops in places with no other transport options, when it’s the worst line in Paris, it puts things in perspective. On one hand, we think that the alternatives might be better, and on the other hand, a closure can only mean improvement for the line in the future. And we love that.
18 days of challenges
In reality, the sky blue line will be inaccessible between the stations Saint-Denis Université and Porte de Saint-Ouen from July 31 to 1.August 7, 2026. So, there will be 6 stations that won’t be served — Saint-Denis Université, Basilique de Saint-Denis, Saint-Denis – Porte de Paris, Carrefour Pleyel, Mairie de Saint-Ouen, Garibaldi — and, of course, no connections will be available. On its side, the Porte de Saint-Ouen station will become the temporary terminus throughout this period. Luckily, while the situation may be tricky for all the residents of northern Paris, students can stay calm, as these disruptions will happen during the summer holidays.
Pk ça fait une semaine que la ligne 13 du métro est encore plus nulle que d'habitude à s'arrêter constamment ????

Repeated Interruptions
Behind this partial line closure are some track renewal and modernization work, preparing for both the upcoming automation of the line as well as the arrival of the new MF19 trains. For this reason, the summer interruption, while the longest, won't be the only one affecting the line in 2026. So, line 13 will be closed between Asnières–Gennevilliers Les Courtilles and La Fourche on the weekend of February 28. The station Plaisance will not be served from April 9 to 12, and Portes de Vanves from August 6 to 9. Finally, the entire line will be closed until noon on Sunday, March 15 and 29, May 3 and 17, June 7 and 28, and August 2, 16, and 30!
