For a few months now, we won't lie to you, we're wondering if the Grand Paris Express will ever become a reality. The issue is the delays in construction that seem to never want to end, constantly pushing back the opening of lines 15, 16, and 17. The only survivor is line 18, with the first segment expected to open before the end of the year. But, of course, when we hear about line 19, it’s hard not to chuckle a little bitterly. However, the project has just taken a new step forward.
Saving the « department with two connections
It's been almost 3 years now since the Île-de-France region, alongside elected officials from Val-d'Oise, committed to funding a study project for line 19. The goal behind this measure is simple: to change the lives of the residents in the department.right now, the most impacted Franciliens by the new lines of the Grand Paris Express often find themselves having to change trains multiple times just to get around. The new line, on the other hand, aims to increase connections to make travel as easy as possible. It’s an ambitious project that could change the lives of 100,000 residents and more than 50,000 employees in the department. And after months and months of research, calculations, and projections, the first ideas have just been revealed.

Several possible routes
For nearly 3 years, the firms Systra France and Mensia have been analyzing, budgeting, and thinking about the needs and constraints of the department to propose different routes for this future line 19, which should connect La Défense or Nanterre to the airport of Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle. Three routes have been envisioned, with the first two offering an express line (stopping only at major stations) or a local service, focusing on reaching more areas and therefore more users. The various projects are estimated to cost between 4.8 and 6.7 billion euros depending on the routes, which is rather on the low side for Grand Paris Express projects. For now, however, the line is still in the study phase, and it is necessary to...
We have to wait until 2027 at least to get the complete results for this one. In the meantime, we’re already hoping to have one or two more metro lines up and running.[Ligne 19 du Grand Paris Express]
