Long considered Paris's worst line (arguably in the world) for good reason, line 13 is getting a complete makeover. Not only has it been preparing for months, but it should also very soon benefit from the arrival of MF19 trains, better known as the metro of the future, which currently run only on line 10. But then what timeline should we expect for these changes?
An arrival awaited like the Messiah
Just a year ago, last October 16th, the Paris metro experienced a little revolution, with the arrival on the network of brand new trains. Modern cars, featuring USB ports; adjustable ventilation, so you don't die from the heat in summer or the cold in winter
specialized spaces for people with reduced mobility (PRM) as well as easier access inside the train; real-time information screens; comfortable seats; different waiting areas for short or long journeys, in short, everything you need to make life easier for all RATP network users. And while they are for now only available on line 10, they will soon be appearing on others. Line 7bis, to start with, from the end of the year, then line 13 from July 2027 onwards, which will allow the light blue line to climb a few spots in our ranking.[#travaux #ligne13] ⚠️ Pour préparer l'arrivée des nouveaux trains #MF19, la #ligne13 sera fermée jusqu'à midi le dimanche 27 septembre et le dimanche 11 octobre.

What's next?
After that, the MF19 will roll out on other Parisian lines, like 3bis (at the same time as the notorious line), then 12 (2028), 8 (2029), 3 (2031) and 7 (2033). And the transformation doesn't stop there for line 13. Indeed, if work has become commonplace lately, it's not just to prepare for the arrival of the MF19, but also to kick off the line's automation, which should happen by 2035! Because yes, after line 14, 1 and 4, line 13 will be the next to go driverless. So, we're thinking we've got a few more chaotic Sundays ahead, but by thenIn a few months, we'll be able to enjoy a rather nice trip on the 13!
