The works in Parisian transport are often synonymous with mystery and uncertainty. Especially when it comes to the completion dates of construction sites. For instance, we could mention the works on the future lines 15, 16, and 17, all extended. However, in the case of the CDG Express (CDGX for close friends), we already have an extremely precise date. Indeed, starting from March 28, 2027, the brand new train will be up and running. Let's hope there are no nasty surprises.
A drastic change for everyone
The principle of the CDG Express is simple. From 5 AM to midnight, shuttles every quarter hour will take all passengers directly from Gare de l'Est to Roissy Airport, in 20 m.Small minutes. 13 trains will take turns throughout the day, offering seating for all passengers, as well as adapted spaces for luggage storage. All of this for the modest price of 24€… for a one-way trip.

So yes, it might seem a bit pricey, but if we had to put a price on happiness, it would probably be this one. Just a reminder, at the moment, you should plan for a good half-hour from Gare du Nord, which is 10 minutes longer. And that’s not counting the frequent construction work, station stops for regulation, and traffic interruptions. All of this, if you don’t have a Navigo pass, for €13.
A project on the right track
While some oppose this project due to its cost and the lack of stops between Paris and the airport, let’s remember that its main function will be to ease congestion on the RER B so that it can return to its primary role of transport.
daily. Anyway, the work is currently going well, and the first tests on the northern part of the line will be conducted starting this autumn.Si je comprends bien, le CDG Express, c’est pour les touristes, et la ligne 17, c’est pour les Franciliens ? 😂 pic.twitter.com/HDJ3VUcXvN

To continue installing or replacing the necessary tracks, there will be many interruptions to plan for in the coming months on the RER B, as well as mainly on the Transilien line K. The good news, however, is that this modernization of the equipment will benefit them too! The testing of the entire line of the CDGX will start in May 2026, leading to a permanent opening in the spring of 2027!
