Track renewals, electrical systems refurbished, new trains… There are countless reasons that justify a metro shutdown. But no matter the reason, one thing is certain, it’s never fun when you’re heading home after a little drink with colleagues or taking the metro on a Sunday to visit a museum with friends. Unfortunately, this week in April (because yes, the start of the year flew by in the blink of an eye) doesn’t look very bright, with several schedules announced for closures on a number of metro or RER lines.

Three metro lines in the spotlight

On the metro side, even though some minor inconveniences are to be expected, we’re still happy to say that the week will be relatively calm, with only 3 lines partially closed. And out of these three, we count…

Line 14 has been experiencing unplanned closures for so long that we're not even sure we can still consider them disruptions—more like the normal schedule for the line. So it will be closed on Monday the 7th and Tuesday the 8th starting at 10 PM between Maison Blanche and Saint-Denis – Pleyel. Just the usual routine...

Nope, this week, we're first focusing on the mint green line, aka line 6, and the fir green line, also known as line 12. On the first one, traffic will be interrupted on Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th between the Nation and Daumesnil stations, to continue with the line modernization. Two stations are located about 15 minutes on foot—and really—no big, big issues here either. On line 12, traffic will be halted across the entire line starting at 10 PM on Sunday the 13th. But we've already reminded you, anyway, Sunday at 10 PM isn't exactly a time to be heading out; it's better to snuggle up on your couch with a great series before kicking off the week.

RER to urgently avoid

On the RER, it's a whole different story, since ... 3 out of the 5 lines shared by RATP and SNCF are in trouble this week (yup, we love acronyms here at Bonbon). Let's start with the easiest ones, lines B and D. On the first one, from Monday to Friday, starting at 10:45 PM, all traffic will be completely interrupted between Châtelet and Charles de Gaulle Airport 2 – TGV / Mitry-Claye, with replacement buses available. Moving on to line D, which is still quite mild, as it will be “only” closed until Friday starting at 11:20 PM between Paris Gare du Nord and Creil. Well, that's manageable!

However, we want to give a heads up to you, RER C users, we wish you all the courage in the world. Every evening of the week, the traffic will be interrupted starting at 11:30 PM between Javel and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, between Paris-Austerlitz and Dourdan/Saint-Martin-d’Étampes, and between Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche and Javel. And starting at 11:00 PM between Paris Austerlitz and Juvisy via Choisy-le-Roi and between Av. Henri-Martin and Montigny Beauchamp/Pontoise.

During the day, the stations from Choisy-le-Roi to Bibliothèque F. Mitterrand (namely Les Ardoines, Vitry-sur-Seine, and Ivry-sur-Seine) will not be served between 9:15 AM and 3:30 PM. And weekends won’t miss out either, as the traffic is interrupted from Invalides towards Versailles Château Rive Gauche, and .

between Paris Austerlitz and Juvisy via Choisy-le-Roi starting from 11:45 PM. Lastly, there will be no trains between Paris Austerlitz and Dourdan/Saint-Martin d’Étampes starting from 11:55 PM on Saturday the 12th and 11:45 PM on Sunday the 13th. We wish you all the best of luck !
