There are news in life that are both good and bad. When you have nothing left to eat for breakfast (oh no), and you end up having to stop by the bakery to grab a croissant on your way to work (yum!). When you spill a glass of red wine on your couch cushion (ugh), but it was a hideous gift from an aunt you don’t really like (perfect). When the line 13 is closed for repairs and you have to change your habits (so annoying), but that means the worst line in Paris is getting a makeover (yay!). And that’s exactly what awaits us in the coming months.

We know it, taking line 13 is a nightmare. Between the technical issues, the crowded trains, and all sorts of delays, we sometimes find ourselves ready to make long detours just to avoid having to ...

Step aboard the sky blue line. However, the situation could soon change, as the most hated metro line in Paris (tied with the 8, we agree) is currently undergoing a massive upgrade.

Indeed, while it has already been closed a few times since the beginning of the year, and the Plaisance station iscurrently inaccessible, until this Sunday, April 12, the RATP has just announced a number of closures. For 16 Sundays spread between May 3 and December 13, 2026, the line will be completely closed until noon. A replacement bus will be set up between the stations Asnières Gennevilliers Les Courtilles and Porte de Clichy, and for everything else, you'll need to find another way.

Behind this closure lies huge modernization work, to prepare the line for the arrival of the future MF19 trains, already...
